Town Court
Brownsburg Town Court is located at the northeast corner of Highway 136 (Main Street) and SR 267 (Green Street), inside the Brownsburg Police Department. We are across the street from Walgreens. Public parking and entrance is on the west side of the building.

For infraction tickets, the Hendricks County Prosecutor’s Office offers a deferral program for those who qualify. You will need to contact that office at hcpotraffic@co.hendricks.in.us for more information. If your ticket was issued as a local ordinance violation, you will need to contact the town attorney at (317) 237-3833. There are also several Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) approved defensive driving courses available.

There are two town courts and one superior court in Hendricks County that tickets are filed in. You will need to call each of the numbers below to determine which court has your ticket on file.

Town Court
If you were pulled over in Hendricks County your ticket can be filed in one of several courts. Although there is some limitation, officers are typically allowed to choose which court their tickets are filed in. It is not unusual for someone to be ticketed in Plainfield but have to respond to Brownsburg Town Court.

Court is held on Wednesdays at 1 pm (there is no court on the fifth Wednesday of the month). Doors open for check-in at approximately 12:30 pm. We do not hold court any other day of the week.

The Judge calls cases at his own discretion. Do not ask to have your case called first. Everyone needs to arrive on time and expect to be present in court until 4 pm.

No, we do not accept partial payments, but the Court can give you time to make your full payment at a later date.

There is a $25 late fee for all tickets not paid by the date assigned by the court, and any unpaid fines and court costs will be sent to an outside collections agency for action. Further, if you fail to pay your ticket or fail to appear at your court date, the Town Court will notify the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) to suspend your driver’s license.

No. Cell phones, cameras, personal digital assistants (PDAs), electronic books, beepers, and any devices that are capable of audio and/or visual recording are not permitted in the courtroom.

Electronic devices are not permitted in the courtroom. Any pictures, text messages or any other digitally-stored item you wish to present as evidence or introduce into the court's record must be provided in hard copy.

In criminal matters, a translator will be provided. Notify court staff with your request, and a translator will be available via the language line. In civil matters, circumstances will dictate the necessity of such service and whether the court will provide one.
