Clerk-Treasurer

The Clerk-Treasurer is elected by residents every four years and is responsible for the finances for the Town of Brownsburg. The Clerk-Treasurer may administer oaths, take depositions, and take acknowledgments of instruments as required by law. The current Clerk-Treasurer is Ann Hathaway.

Duties

  • Receive and care for all Town money
  • Prescribe payroll for all Town offices
  • Manage the finances and accounts of the Town
  • Make investments of Town money
  • Maintain the Town seal and the records of the legislative body
  • Issue all licenses and collect fees fixed by ordinance
  • Serve as clerk of the legislative body by attending meetings and recording its proceedings
  • Administer oaths
  • Administer billing and accounting for Town Utilities
