Grease Trap Program

Grease trap inspections are conducted at restaurants and other food-related businesses throughout the year. These inspections are required to ensure the proper operation of the collection system. Improper operation of a grease trap results in grease entering the sewer system and causing sewer backups and overflows. Inspections are normally conducted during business hours.

Those businesses are asked to document when they have cleaned or performed maintenance on their grease traps. Town inspectors will provide a blank form for your use. That documentation should be available for the inspector at the time of our visit.
