Enforcement Unit
The Enforcement Unit operates 24 hours a day with dispatching services provided by the Hendricks County Communications Center. Patrol officers respond to a variety of service-related calls, including traffic accidents, ordinance violations, and other calls for assistance. However, the division primarily concentrates on responding to crimes against persons and property, and where feasible, preventing such occurrences with a highly visible presence and proactive community enforcement measures. Uniformed police officers and Reserve volunteers make up 80% of the Department.

Bicycle Unit
The Brownsburg Police Department is home to a five-officer bike unit that was established in the summer of 2008.

Emergency Response Team
The Brownsburg Emergency Response Team (ERT) was developed in response to the increased need for a specialized team with additional tactical training to react to situations that evolve into critical incidents.

Brownsburg Narcotics Unit (BNU)
The Interstate Crime Enforcement Team (ICE Team) was established in January 2006. It is made up of two specially trained Patrol Officers assigned to work traffic enforcement on major routes in and around the Town of Brownsburg, including I-74 and I-65.

K9 Unit
The Brownsburg Police Department's K9 Unit includes four highly trained canines, each teamed with a specially trained officer.

Motorcycle Unit
The Brownsburg Police Department Motorcycle Unit consists of three Harley-Davidson police motorcycles.
